Description

Final thoughts?
This sure was such a busy AND slow year that I feel like I haven't made much progress. I do notice that starting May, my art did change somewhat and that was also when I started to draw and color in a different way (for me at least). I guess that was when I focused more on my weaknesses and began working on them.

Either way, I notice that last year I did a bunch of full colored illustrations and this year not really. Which kinda saddens me but oh well, group work and irl keep me busy. Gotta work harder > ^ < )9

Wall of text below for the curious ones < v > ;;;

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

January: PH calendar project | Managed to finish it once my semester was ending!

February: Had a three week vacation and despite me being "busy" with games, I finished tons of pieces with BGs and I had fun playing with the lighting~ I felt like I improved so much this month due to all the experimenting I did! ; 7 ;

March: While this was posted in April, I actually drew this in December and colored in March! Semester was starting and it was a difficult start, hence the lack of art.

April: This was when I finally beat Xenoblade. It influenced me so much on character design, alongside TLS, I had the urge to redo some old characters! I got a new laptop so my color palette suffered some changes--

May: Still revamping characters and trying to simplify my coloring. Colors are no longer super saturated and are more "controlled" now. Also tried to add some flow to characters' poses.

June: End of the semester = no art. Plus, I had MS stuff to do so I was chained until the end. Waistups and a BG are all that came from me.

July: Thanks to the new laptop, I decided to go back to Photoshop coloring and do some experiments. Tried a more semi-realistic approach but I quickly gave up. My drawing arm suffered greatly during this and last month, that I had to stop drawing for more than 4 weeks.

August: Still resting my arm while being on the beach the entire day. In the end, I managed to do a little fanart to play with lighting and filters a bit.

September: With a new "school year" starting, I decided to focus on my weaknesses. Aka Backgrounds. I took on the challenge and spent quite the time taming that monster of a Cathedral. Am I proud? Yes. Could I do better? Always. Also chained to MS work.

October: Did a few more fullbodies/revamps. Again, chained to MS work and having to rest my arm.

November: MS work aside *cough* I didn't have much time to focus on illustrations. Motivation wasn't there but artblock was. I spent the entire month working on commissions I have yet to post, so gallery suffered a bit.

December: I have yet more works to finish and commissions, but I decided to give Photoshop another try. My arm is all hurting again so it's a no-no; plus I take much more time coloring there. Decided to play with perspective and angles a bit though.

Even if you were busy with other stuff, I think you still managed to get in a good lot of draws in over the year, and can definitely see that your drawing style's changed very subtly, and your colouring especially, as mentioned in the past, you've learnt to clean it up so it's neater and cleaner and more sophisticated. Plus all them details seem to have been taken up to another level altogether *A*

I know the feel about having dones less colourful stuff over the year, I feel that way too 8') Though I think rather than that, it's more you've learnt to tone down your palette and use it in a more controlled manner. Though 2012 seems to be a very blue you for you heh /slapped. Plus you've done well working in different perspectives, backgrounds, and especially indoor scenes those are the hardest to do dfjnhkfdjhn

All-in-all, a good year of subtle improvement for you methinks *v* )b
